Preparing for a job search can be extremely nerve-racking from what I have heard. Personally, I have never had a job so I can’t give tips from personal experience. Sorry guys! But I have looked up some quick and easy tips and have thought some up myself.
First tip… START NOW! GO! GO! GO! Start by building a résumé. They need to see what you have to offer.
Also, be reasonable with where you can work. We would all rather be working at The Cheesecake Factory or The Melting Pot, but in reality, with no job experience, Bob Evans might be the stepping stone. Don't be ashamed of it either! Everyone needs to start from somewhere.
Another tip is have references ready. Make sure that they are people that you can trust and will give them a good word about you!

Good and to the point for someone who never had a job:-) You're right we all have to start somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLUCKY!! I have had many job interviews and the tips that have put in here are deffently a stepping stone for new interviewes. Good post!!
ReplyDeleteSorry was thinking about another post but still a good post for someone that hasn't had a job yet!
ReplyDeleteHey Jackie! I have never had a job either. Good point about starting with a smaller job rather then going for a big blace. I will keep that in mind becuse I am in the process of looking for a job right now. Your blog was short and percise, it got to the point quickly with no fluff. That is good all hte people who actually do work and only have time to read the important information.
ReplyDeleteI am almost in the same boat as you. I have only had one legit job and the manager came looking for me! I didn't really have to do any preparation at all to land this job. But I'm glad I got it. Your first job, like you said, is a major stepping stone.
ReplyDeleteI like this one a lot. These aren't tips someone would usually think of and it was interesting. Good job!
